Cumbrian Artists Buy Brougham Hall, Penrith and Launch Renovation Crowd Funder to Save the Hall.
‘Help us save Brougham Hall, a hidden historic gem, popular attraction and home to small but thriving creative businesses, near Penrith’
With a mix of grant aid and personal investment, the newly formed Brougham Hall Community Interest Company (CIC) bought the 14th century fortified hall. Established by six local creative people with businesses at Brougham: Mary Chappelhow, Susan Clough, Isabella Lepri, Ellen Pogson, Sara Last and Chris Philips, they aim to not only save it for the future but also put it firmly on the map as a beautiful historic asset and an expanding, vibrant, creative community.
The CIC is looking for £80,000 to go towards preserving this piece of History. The money is needed to make it water tight, to maintain it, to make it sustainable, to offer more public events and increase the space for creative business…The list is endless but the company know that it is completely attainable and with public help they can make Brougham Hall a place for the enjoyment of current and future generations.
The CIC is asking local people, visitors, historians, creatives, families and every one that appreciates this historic asset to give and get involved.
‘Please support our Crowd Funding. Please visit, explore, learn and enjoy. Please tell your friends, bring your children, join our events, support our artisans, get involved and be part of the legacy.’
